Privacy Policy for Word King

Overview

Word King is made by Edamame Makers. The game is designed to collect only the information needed to operate gameplay, progression, leaderboards, diagnostics, and advertising.

Information We Collect

• Game progress, including XP, wins, matches played, daily challenge results, streaks, achievements, and cosmetic selections.
• Profile details you choose inside the game, such as display name, avatar color, and cosmetic identity.
• An automatically created anonymous account identifier used to sync progress and leaderboard data. You do not need to supply an email address or password.
• Limited diagnostic information used to identify crashes, bugs, and performance issues, such as platform, app version, locale, time zone, and device model when available.
• A push notification token, if you enable Daily Arena reminders on Android, used only to deliver those reminders. Disabling reminders removes the token.
• Feedback you choose to send from inside the game, including the message text and any screenshots or videos you attach. Attachments are stored in Firebase Storage and reviewed to improve the game. Feedback may also be forwarded to our support inbox.
• Short-lived one-time link codes, if you use device sync, used solely to connect your progress across devices. Codes expire and are deleted after use.

Player Safety

Other players can see your display name and submitted game words during play, and your display name and scores on leaderboards. Player reports include the reporting and reported account identifiers, the reason, and limited game context so we can review abuse. Blocked-player choices are saved on your device.

Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics cookies are used on the web version to measure how people find and use the site. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland they stay off until you allow them. Anywhere, you can turn them off. Advertising personalization is off. We exclude player names, played words, account and match identifiers, and private link codes from these events. • Firebase is used for backend services such as profile sync, hosted matches, daily results, and leaderboards.
• Google AdMob is used for Android ads. Google may use advertising identifiers to support ad delivery, personalization, measurement, and fraud prevention. Ads and cross-app tracking are disabled in the initial iOS release.
• Google Play and Apple platform services handle app distribution and any platform transactions. Edamame Makers does not process or store payment card information directly.

Tracking and Advertising Controls

Android advertising follows its consent controls. Declining personalization does not prevent play. The initial iOS release does not request tracking permission or serve ads. Web analytics stays off in the EEA, UK and Switzerland until you allow it, and can be turned off anywhere.

Data Retention and Deletion

Word King profiles are anonymous: they hold a display name, an avatar color, and your game progress (such as XP, crowns, streaks, and cosmetics), which sync to our backend so you can continue on another device. Telemetry event records, including their diagnostics, are scheduled for automatic removal after about 45 days. The latest diagnostics saved with your profile remain until you delete your account. One-time device-link codes expire and are deleted after use.

Firebase and Google Cloud also process IP addresses and request security information. Firebase Authentication keeps logged IP addresses for a few weeks; removing deleted authentication information from live and backup systems can take up to 180 days. Our routine Cloud Logging bucket has a 30-day retention period, and required administrative and audit logs have a 400-day period. Google may keep separate service data longer for security or legal requirements. See Firebase's privacy information and the Google Cloud Privacy Notice.

In app versions with Settings > Delete account, use that control to permanently delete your anonymous account, synced progress, leaderboard profile, Daily entries, diagnostic records, and feedback and media held in Firebase. If your version does not offer it, contact us for deletion help. Shared game history is stripped of your identifying details while preserving other players' results. A minimal deletion receipt is retained to prevent old sessions from restoring the deleted account.

Deletion requires an internet connection and affects every device linked to the account. If you need help with deletion or with feedback already forwarded to our support inbox, contact edamame.makers@gmail.com. Do not send passwords or device-sync codes. Support correspondence may be retained while we resolve your request.

Children's Privacy

Junior game progress stays on the device. The app may still send diagnostic information associated with its anonymous account. Please avoid putting personal information in display names or feedback. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Accessibility

Word King aims to support readable typography, distinct visual labels, and screen-reader-friendly controls where possible.
